Freespire is a community-driven Linux distribution which is composed mostly of free/open source software, while providing users the choice of including proprietary software including multimedia codecs, device drivers and application software.

Freespire is originally derived from Linspire. Freespire 1.0 is based on Debian, while Freespire 2.0 is based on Ubuntu. Linspire was bought by Xandros, who decided to switch back to Debian for future Freespire releases.

History

In August 2005, a distribution Live CD based on Linspire's source pools named Freespire hit the web by accident. This distribution was created by Andrew Betts and was not produced or released by Linspire Inc. Freespire was confused by some users to be an actual product from Linspire, and at the request of Linspire the distribution adopted a development codename Squiggle and began looking for a new name. Linspire then, on the back of the generated publicity, offered users a "free Linspire" (purchase price discounted to $0) by using the coupon code "Freespire" until September 9, 2005. Squiggle OS is no longer in active development.

On April 24, 2006, Linspire announced its own project named "Freespire". The new Freespire distribution was announced by then Linspire President and former CEO Kevin Carmony. This follows to the model of Fedora being supported by Red Hat and the community since 2003. Novell had also started a similar community project by the name of openSUSE for its SUSE Linux product line in the second half of 2005.

Xandros acquired Linspire/Freespire in the Summer of 2008. Xandros plans on keeping Freespire as a community developed distribution similar to that of OpenSUSE and Fedora for their respective commercial distributions.

അഥവാ അതുന്റെങ്കില്‍ എന്തുമാവാം എന്നാണോ അവര്‍ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ചത്? ഇവിടെ ഞാന്‍ ഉദ്ദേശശുദ്ധി അലക്കാനോന്നും ഉദ്ദേശിക്കുന്നില്ല... കേവലം ഒരു ഇന്ത്യന്‍ പൌരനെന്ന നിലയില്‍ ഒരു തുറന്ന അഭിപ്രായം ... കോണ്ടം സമ്പന്തിച്ച കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ ഇന്ന്നു കൊച്ചു കുട്ടികള്‍ വരെ മനസ്സിലാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു .നമ്മുടെ കാലത്ത് അങ്ങനെ ഒരു ചിന്തയെ മനസ്സില്‍ പോലും വന്നിട്ടില്ല എന്നതാണ് സത്യം..
ഇന്നത്തെ ഈ കുട്ടികള്‍ നാളെ എങ്ങനെയാവും എന്നതിന് ഉത്ഹാരം പറയേണ്ടത് നമ്മുടെ ഗോവെന്മേന്റാണ് ...അവര്‍ക്ക് ഇതിനെ കുറിച്ച അറിവ് നല്‍കണം എന്നത് സമ്മതിച്ചു പക്ഷെ എപ്പോള്‍ ,എവിടെ, എങ്ങനെ? അത് വിവേക പൂര്‍വ്വം ചിന്തിക്കണം ... ഇനിയും കൊണ്ടമുന്റെങ്കില്‍ എല്ലംയെന്നു പ്രക്യപിക്കാനാണ് ഭാവമെങ്കില്‍ ഞാനും പ്രഖ്യാപിക്കുന്നു ഇവിടെ പത്തും പന്ത്രണ്ടും വയസ്സുള്ള അമ്മമാര്‍ ഉടനെ ഉണ്ടാകും ...മാത്രമല്ല അച്ഛനമ്മമാര്‍ ഒരു പക്ഷെ അവരുടെ കുട്ടികളുടെ കുട്ടികള്‍ക്കും ചെലവ് വഹ്ക്കെന്റി വരും തീര്‍ച്ച ...

വാല്‍കഷ്ണം: അങ്ങ നമ്മുടെ ഇന്ഗ്ലാന്റില്‍ ഒരു കൊച്ചു പയ്യന് കുഞ്ഞായ വാര്‍ത്ത‍ ഞെട്ടലോടെ നാം വായിച്ചു ,പിന്നെ ഇംഗ്ലീഷ്കാരെ കുറ്റം പറഞ്ഞു .നാളെ അതെ നിന്റെ കുട്ടിക്കും ഈ ഗതി വന്നാല്‍ നീ എന്ത് ചെയ്യും ?

Noodles is basically a carbohydrate. Carbohydrates are essential for a our body. But excess carbohydrates will be converted by our body into sugar which if not utilized will deposit as fat in our body.

But if Noodles are eaten in proper portions it is not harmful.

Secondly you should consider with what ingredients the noodles are made up of. These days you get high quality multigrain and or whole wheat noodles. Even the famous Maggi Noodles sells "Atta Noodles" which are made of wheat. If you consume too much maida or white flour noodles then it may not be a very healthy option.

Thirdly you should always make your noodles healthy, by combing protein and essentials fats along with the carbohydrates. This can be done by adding protein rich eggs, chicken or meat and lots of vegetables like carrots, beans, peas,mushrooms etc according to your taste and likeness. For oil use good heart healthy oils like Olive Oil, Sesame oil instead of butter.

All these put together will make a healthy, tasty and sumptuous meal.
